They’re growing

In June 2008 Staff from the Environment’s Calverton Fish Farm ‘borrowed’ nine crucian carp in order to use them as brood stock. Later that year in addition to the original fish, 300 of their offspring were returned for restocking at Ravenfield and Baker’s. 200 fish were split between the two stock ponds at Ravenfield and the remainder placed in Baker’s. Some of these fish are now being caught at Baker’s and are suprisingly large for their young age (less than 2 years). Pictures of the original stock and a Baker’s fish are shown below.
