New River Season Begins
Written by Martin Read - 16th June 2008
The Don opened to anglers on June 16th with a flurry of activity at Kilnhurst. Small dace, roach and chub were the order of the day with stick float and maggots the best combination, although some chub to 2lbs did feature in the nets of anglers fishing the feeder or ledgering. Numerous barbel have been spotted but are believed to still be spawning.
