Monster chub from Kilnhurst
A falling river with a nice colour looked ideal for barbel or so club chairman Martin Read thought last weekend. But it wasn't to be and when pellet tactics failed Martin turned to stick floating well across at peg 13. Even that wasn't over productive as the rivers small fish didn't want to know. Persistence however paid off, when first a 2lbs chub came to the net, to be followed later by a massive 5lbs specimen which took single maggot.
