Huge roach at Baker's
When Kilnhurst and District first began fishing Baker's Pond the water was full of stunted, very small rudd, produced no doubt as a result of the continuous hot water that entered the pond from the neighbouring factory. That now no longer exists and along with many other changes that have been made the Pond is now nothing like its former self.
One of the benefits of the changes that have been made is an improvement in the size and variety of the fish the pond now holds as witnessed recently by an angler catching a superb 1lb 8ozs roach.
