Match update

Snow on Boxing Day evening made access to the Ponds the following morning impossible and resulted in the Christmas Match being cancelled. Watch the match calendar for details of when it will be fished.

Unfortunately the match the following week was only a little better with frosty nights and melting snow making bites few and far between. Stuart Senior was the winner from 68 peg but had to wait until the dying stages before catching any fish in numbers and finishing with 4lbs 11ozs. Harry Booth was second at 79, fishing the feeder to find two skimmers and some perch for 4lbs 8ozs, with Alan Banks third with 4lbs exactly from 72.

There were some improvements however on Saturday with a number of skimmers and roach being caught despite the horrendous winds. Trevor Parkin, pictured above, took the lead with a 12lbs 7ozs catch from peg 73 on the dam wall. Dave Griffiths was second with two ide plus some roach and perch for 7lbs 3ozs leaving Don Senior in third place with 5lbs 8ozs. Others were Barry Heappey, 5lbs 4ozs, Stuart Senior, 4lbs 15.5ozs and Ray Hamshaw 4lbs 11ozs.
