Match record broken

The ponds are fishing exceptionally well with almost 20lbs needed to win a Tuesday evening match and double figures needed to be in the top six.

The recent Saturday match saw Barry Heappey win with 35lbs 3ozs a new match record for the ponds. But it didn’t stop there, Dave Lawton had 29lbs 12ozs for second and Derek Jackson 25lbs 8ozs for third. And more than 17lbs was needed to make the top six.

Pellets seem to be the best baits for nets of bream and tench, but maggot and caster will catch smaller fish all day and hemp and tares are giving some excellent nets of roach for those brave enough to try.
