Baker's Pond
This three acre, shallow fishery (pictured below) is situated at the end of Springfield Road in Kilnhurst where, once again, access is through a locked gate and is for anglers only. Currently there are 35 purpose built angling platforms and the water is literally full of fish, having once been fed by hot water from an adjoining factory. It has been said that if you were to gamble your life on catching a fish, this is the place to do it. Whip, pole and waggler are the methods for rudd, roach, bream, odd tench and crucian carp. An ideal place to teach youngsters who need only use a short whip to get bites.

Baker's pond has just undergone another face lift, including extending the pegs and paths, many of which are now suitable for disabled access, providing a toilet and landscaping. You can see what has been done here and here is the latest addition.
