Kilnhurst and District AA extend access to Don

After 10 years of paying the Environment Agency for the fishing rights on the river Don above the school at Kilnhurst, but never being given access, K&DAA have at last sorted the problem.

As from the begining of the season, on June 16th, and with help from Awards for All lottery funding and a fisheries grant, the river will be open to members, (including Phoenix). A new car park has been established and 15 completely new angling platforms have been built to facilitate waterside access.

Membership books clearly show access, which as ever is via locked gates to the secure car park and the bank, and these gates must be kept locked at all times. In addition anglers’ vehicles must display a car park sticker which will be supplied with the membership book. There will be no day ticket fishing.
