Future stock boost

The angling Club have run another collaborative exercise with the guys at the Environment Agency’s Calverton Fish Farm this spring supplying them with rudd and tench for this summer’s breeding programme. By way of a thank you the Farm has returned, in addition to returning our original stock fish, many thousands of tench, crucian and rudd fry which have been placed in the Kingfisher and new stock ponds. There, because of the absence of predators such as perch and ide, they should prosper and grow and provided a future stock source for the other ponds. The photograph shows just some of the many fry that were returned.
