I have wondered about what Ron suggested and I too thought something similar would be a good idea.. the only problem then is policing it, it opens a new door on people fishing without permits. One thought I had was say the member has the use of 2 or 3 guest tickets per season, he would then have to fill this in with guests details including rod license number and drop off at club office prior to fishing, he retains a signed stub as proof.. just a thought, maybe there's a good reason against that I've overlooked..

One of the main reasons I'm for it is I think it would encourage more members to join. My dad for example wants to join but for him its like buying a car, he doesn't want to part with his cash until he's had a go himself.

Even make it a bit more worth while for the club.. charge a fiver every time a ticket is used

Barney, if we knew why places did or didn't fish all the time we would be millionaires. Nature is a funny thing, but I have to ask, when it wasn't fishing well, why everyone persists in doing the same thing. surely fishing is about catching fish, not 'going fishing' if you see the difference.
One of the leading weights from the match told me that 'it wasn't the fish it was the anglers' which is perhaps the quote of the year let alone the week.
Just goes to show that the addition of 800lbs of fish to the Gt. Pond has little if any effect when they're not playing.

Nothing beats the feeling of driving down that lane with the roof down, well catching fish beats it but with my skills that doesnt happen all too often! I see course anglers catching regardless of what they wear so is it more of a benefit when specimen fishing?

Sorry I didnt get to say Hello on Sat Andrew, by the time I walked down you guys had already left but Gizzy has told me just how excited you were by what you saw :)

Membership books already have a photo ID attached but I intend to suggest that they are changed to something laminated with photo enclosed, credit card sized would make them fit in with new style rod licence and fit easily in wallet so no excuse for not being able to present even if just walking round the venue casually.

Number locks have already been reviewed and decided not to impliment, Martin mentioned an example reason why earlier in this thread

Gizzy... your account works, was starting to think your sign up might not have worked right!! lol

 Damn you Chris

is the problem realy that bad ?

Theres an easy visable way to see members, now theres a couple of ways to do this - the membership card, could this be lamintated with a picture of the member in it ? If not no worries but how about this

You have different levels of members, carp, normal and commitee, so why not supply each person from the group with a specific colour of lanyard, this can be then worn over clothing and could be highly visable - if the membership cards are laminated these could be clipped to them.

Unsure what a lanyard is :

http://www.ctlaminating.com/identification-supplies-pics/lanyard-attachments/Lanyard-Attachments.jpg

Didn't matter how much practice was put in for the 500 pound match, it was a difficult day all round for everyone that was pegged on there. I honestly thought that it would have fished alot better than it did, given the results of the last 500 match and the fact that were still in summer albeit towards the end. Can anybody explain has to why it fished so badly. I was one of the few anglers that started to pack about 3. Not one solitary bite the whole match. Lets hope it won,t fish like that during the winter matches.
