Had a cracking 4 hours lots of Roach and Skimmers all on the wag 2/3rds of the way over and just 2 pints of casters! and my cusion had a small tench and a perch on maggot down the reeds! I think he will be pestering his dad to get a permit so he can go more often.

I am now looking forward to some evening matches, can anyone tell be the pools for these (and Bakers matches) and the hours fished?

Advice http://www.ravenfieldponds.co.uk/forum/discussion/343/advice Mon, 16 Apr 2012 16:09:09 -0400 jase 343@/forum/discussions New toilet http://www.ravenfieldponds.co.uk/forum/discussion/349/new-toilet Wed, 25 Apr 2012 07:04:28 -0400 Martin 349@/forum/discussions Until it is complete, and to protect against accidents /loss we secured it using an old Ravenfield lock, but some thieving b.....d has taken the lock.
On behalf of everyone who gave up their time for free getting cold, wet, and dirty for the benefit of the Club and the members can I record my utter dismay that someone could stoop so low. And add if the person ever uses the toilet in future he needs to beware 'cos he may find that someone locks the new lock on the outside.]]>
Goodbye http://www.ravenfieldponds.co.uk/forum/discussion/339/goodbye Mon, 09 Apr 2012 06:34:07 -0400 Dan 339@/forum/discussions
I may take up the permit again in the future, but there are a few reasons I have chosen not to renew this time.
I am fed up with planning a session and getting down there to find the carp pond rammed, now I appreciate that is a good thing for the club, but the carp pond as we all know switches off when there are too many lines in the water, I don't feel the carp pond is big enough for the number of permits sold.

Also had enough of some people thinking they own the pond, and getting hassle when we have all paid our money to fish, I personally am a v responsible angler, with fish safety being my top priority and have been put off by people stirring up trouble for me and my family and friends who fish down there just because our face doesn't fit.

One example of not feeling part of the community down there is my recent catch's being taken off the specimen gallery, they were there then someone decided our catches didn't belong there for some reason and have been taken down.

Also people ruining the pond for others by heavily pre baiting, I have seen this on more than one occasion, and it isn't warranted on a pond of that size.

There has been more than one occasion where I have seen or unfortionally stood in Dog mess while on the bank, this doesn't belong there where people are 'camping', sleeping and eating, and it isn't fair that dog owners aren't being responsible enough to clean up after their pets, this might not be anglers in every case, but the public can't get in the gates with dogs, so the only conclusion is it is anglers, unless people are leaving the gates open.

I would like to wish the club, and the lads who have helped me in past, all the best for the future and maybe one day ill see back on the bank.

Dan

This session was a turn up and was well worth it, with all the mild weather is a good indication that the fish are all coming out of there long sleep and inactivity and are on the feed. ]]>
