New Pond

Fished the new pond today, and used pellet and corn for bait. Had a good day with lots of fish, but was pestered with Rudd all day, fished at various depths including on the bottom and in different locations but still couldn't get rid of the Rudd. Not that I mind catching them as I had plenty out, but would have been nice to see some tench and bream maybe. Any tips for the New Pond in targeting the tench would be great. Cheers.

I thought the tench had swam off from all ponds as I have hardly caught any for the last couple of years but our juniors have had some great specimens recently.

Not fished the New Pond for ages Kimi so can't comment on there but these have all been caught on either maggot dead depth using the pole or waggler dead depth. I would normally fish over depth for them but none of the youngsters have.

I can tell you how to get away from the rudd. I fished Friday evening, hemp and tares and had nothing but roach, loads of lovely red fins, to 12ozs, magic fishing.

have a bash sticking to the margins n fish 3 or 4 inch overdepth with corn and worm over small pellets. used to love fishing on the new pond.
