Roundwood Pavillion is approached from Rawmarsh. It is found about a quarter of a mile along Green Lane on the outside of a bend where there is a big sign.

Carrying on from the waggler in the tree episode a certain angler with a lets say fuller figure not mentioning any names but is commonly known as end peg, was fishing the feeder on a pleasure session when on casting out he landed on the island, as not to arouse his mates he tried to pull his feeder off only for it to quickly release itself and shoot back landing yes youve guessed it in the tree at the side of him much to the amusment of a certain Mr Glossop who witnessed the episode. And while im on, a first at Ravenfield, Alan Banks actually opened the gate on the way out and his mate Barry Heappey closed it. it must be xmas

Fished the Don with a couple of mates yesterday, river at normal level, used meat, corn and pellet on the bomb and trotted maggot. Float ran through beautiful. Not a thing, not even a bite. (And nobody lost any tackle!!)

Probably still too cold. Did you check water temp.? I bet if it didn't run it would freeze over, mind all the salt that will be in it wouldn't help. It's usually only flatties and mackerel when it's like this. Seriously two pals fished the Dearne last week with the same result.

I can confirm that Martin , I fished the Dearne again today an water temp was 33 degrees f . Too cold even for the chub today I'm afraid .

Does anybody know if there are Eels in bridge Pond? I banked a 3lb and an 8lb mirror yesterday but was smashed off by something different. I was fishing bomb and worm. My tip went tap, tap, tap, and off it zoomed about 20 yards before getting into a snag and parting my line. It was suggested by another angler on the other pond that it might be Eels.
Or does anybody know anything different???

    Mark,
I caught one last august pole fishing, might have gone a pound tops, I knew it was a eel because it hugged the bottom and loads of bubbles came up, typical of a "dooley" .

We've seen some monsters in the otherponds in the past. A carp angler had one 4lbs plus on lobber, plus some smaller ones, and when we drained the Gt. Pond years ago we got one 2ft 6inches long. There have also been some caught in Burcliff so anything is possible.

    HI ALL
is there any chance of re-positioning the central island on the kingfisher pond as it has slipped away from its moorings making fishing next to the island difficult. i have lost more tackle this winter than ever before

    many thanks

Yes, that and some more, when it gets a bit warmer, working with your arms in water up to the elbows ain't a lot of fun this weather. In the meantime you'll not have to fish too close!

    Kim,

It's at the end of Springfield road in Kilnhurst. You can get a key from the office priced £1.50, but I'd wait until it warms up, as it's only shallow.

WELL.at last i managed to get down to the ponds for a couple of hours on saterday morning.and really enjoyed having a chat with my "old" fishing buddies.I can`t be quite better yet, because I didnt even try to stir things up between them, which is quite unusual for me-and isnt usually any problem at all even if i am out of practice.
My son and three grandsons were also pleasure fishing on pegs 29 to 32 so I could have a couple of chucks with their tackle just to keep my "hand in".its been a long time, but I mean to be fishing within two weeks and counting, counting, counting. see you all soon. ps yes John I WILL be after both £500 prizes
