Bircliffe netted to help stock the Kingfisher

SONY DSC

The Bircliffe Pond was netted last week in order to retrieve some of the tench and crucians that were stocked into the pond in November when the Kingfisher was drained. The photograph above shows the net being secured after the first sweep over just half the pond. There were so many fish in the net it was impossible to estimate the weight, but it was well in excess of 1000lbs. The pictures below show some of the fish that were returned to Bircliffe.
