Coaching
Phoenix and Parkgate Angling Club have a dedicated coaching team and is able to offer a variety of coaching opportunities, either through the club's junior section, or by arrangement for adults and junior groups. The Club is currently delivering a series of sessions with RMBC Youth Organisations.
We also hold occasional open days for families and non- anglers to come, try their hand, and enjoy.
All tackle is privided by the club at coaching events.
Phoenix & Parkgate Junior Angling Club
Plans are still being finalised for the Phoenix and Parkgate Junior Section, we will announce how this will operate in due course.
At present we are inviting AC members to share their views on how they would like the junior section to operate.
Rotherham Youth Club Partnership
We have been working with Herringthorpe Youth Club since 2010 to create angling opportunities for young people.
These sessions now take place every two of weeks throughout the summer.
Jean Simmons of RMBC Children & Young Poeple's Services recently wrote to thank the club on behlf of the juniors from Herringthorpe Youth Club. In her letter she wrote "I cannot thank you and the rest of the team enough for the time and effort you all put into this partnership. The lads have learned new skills, respect and discipline as they fish and they have all progressed and gained in confidence and self esteem, as a staff team we are really pleased with the young men’s change in attitude and their eagerness to learn."
