What a summer it has been, we’ve experienced one of the hottest summers on record and because of, or despite of, the weather we’ve seen the best summer angling wise that anyone at the Ponds can remember! The picture is a good example and shows Mick Bostock with a 59lbs net of bream and tench. Silver fish, bream and carp catches have been beyond expectations and some of the projects that we began during the last two years are now really showing dividends, and more plans are currently in hand.
I visit a number of fisheries in the course of a year and the one thing that this year in particular has highlighted is just what membership of our club offers. Which club for example provides such a wide range of species from carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, crucian, big perch and ide, in such wonderful surroundings as Ravenfield or off site at Baker’s, the canal or Don, 365 days/year. Or for that matter hosts more than 80 matches each year? And from October 1st anyone wanting to join can do so for half price.
Space prevents trying to cover all the detail here so please read on below where some activities are discussed further.
